The word “home” brings up a variety of explanations and emotions in anyone. You could argue the whole of human history is really about a species attempting to find whatever its members specifically defined as “home” in their relative consciousness.
A few weeks ago, my former professor and friend Dr. Erwin Warkentin and I found ourselves on some long drives through Finnish Lapland. My conversation with Joe Teo for Canada Day sparked a conversation much of which I recorded. In that episode, Joe said home could be defined as where he was able to make the biggest impact. That led to Erwin and I discussing our specific concepts of what home means.
